My Favorite Supplies

December 8, 2018 Rebecca Green
My favorite supplies for creatives

Whether you are starting a wedding stationery business or you want to pick up a new hobby, navigating all of the tools to start can be really overwhelming. Today I’m excited to share my absolute favorite tools I use for wedding invitations, calligraphy and watercolor.

MY FAVORITE PRINTER

My absolute favorite inkjet printer. Although I don’t print invitations in house I do print most of my envelope addressing and this thing is lightening fast and the quality is excellent! It also doesn’t break the bank! When I first started Rebecca Green Design I thought I needed the most expensive printer. I shelled out about $1,000 on a great laser printer, only to realize cartridges were so expensive, I didn't want to print invitations in house, and I could get the same, if not better, quality using this bad boy right here!

ADVANCED TAPE GLIDER

This is a must have! I use this tape glider for attaching envelope liners to envelopes, assembling invitations with backers and assembling pocketful invitations. It is super easy to use, inexpensive and lasts forever. (I’ve had mine for 5+ years!). You can also buy refills in bulk here.

CORK GRIP NIB HOLDER

When I first started practicing Calligraphy it was recommend that I purchase an oblique nib holder. It felt very unnatural to me and I could never quite get the hang of it. Then I found this, much more comfortable, cork grip nib holder and it suddenly felt so much more natural!

DAB-N-SEAL ENVELOPE MOISTENER

Find yourself with an overwhelming pile of wedding invitations that need sealing? My tongue hurts just thinking about it. These envelope moisteners are worth every penny in my opinion! No more hassling with licking every single envelope, sometimes twice, only to find it’s not sticking evenly. These are inexpensive and sold in a set of 4.

Dubsado

DUBSADO

If you invest in one thing in your business, let it be Dubsado. I can’t say enough good things about this tool. I use this to collect leads, track my customers, take payments and send proofs. My most favorite part is the customer portal. My clients can easily see their open invoices, fill out forms for me and see their amazing proofs. My forms look professional, I’m more organized and it makes the process seamless for my clients too! Be sure yo use code “rgdesign” to receive 20% off your first month!

ARCHES WATERCOLOR COLD PRESS BLOCK

When it comes to watercolor, the paper you use can make a huge difference! I only use Arches. It’s on the pricier side but very much worth the investment!

NIKKO G NIBS

When I first started my calligraphy journey these were recommended and I really hated them! But after practicing with tons of different nibs the Nikko G actually tends to be my favorite.
